JEECE 2018 – Candidates seeking admission to B.Tech courses at various engineering institutions in Jharkhand have to qualify Jharkhand Engineering Entrance Competitive Examination (JEECE) 2018 to be conducted in online mode by JCECE Board in second week of May 2018. It will go completely online (computer based test) from this year. The application form of JEECE 2018 is expected to open in the first week of April 2018 and has to be filled in online mode. To fill the JEECE 2018 application form, candidates need to get registered on the application portal using a valid email ID and other details. The candidate has to then log-in to the newly created account and fill in the application form. It is important that the candidate meets the eligibility criteria of JEECE 2018, as otherwise such applications might be rejected. Also, candidates must refrain from filling multiple applications, as it is another cause of disqualifation. The admit card of JEECE 2018 will be available tentatively in the second week of May and will contain details like date and center of the exam and roll number. JEECE 2018 exam will be conducted in the second week of May tentatively. Post conclusion of the JEECE exam, answer keys will be released. The result of the exam will be available around third week of May 2018. Based on the marks obtained by candidates in JEECE, a merit list would be drawn and counselling will take place.

JCECE (for B.Tech admission) now goes by the name of JEECE


Till 2016, admission to UG engineering programmes was through the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (JCECE), a common entrance test that also included other disciplines like agriculture. However in 2017, JCECEB conducted a separate admission test (JEECE) for B.Tech/ BE admission. From year 2018, the entrance exam will be conducted in online mode.

JEECE Important Dates 2018


Before candidates can sit in JEECE 2018, there are a lot of events that the candidate must participate in, like filling of application form and download of admit card. Then after the exam ends, there is a slew of other events like declaration of result, counselling, and finally admission. JEECE Eligibility Criteria 2018


Candidates seeking admission to B.Tech courses at undergraduate courses in various participating institutes in Jharkhand must meet the JEECE 2018 eligibility criteria listed below.


Age Limit – There is no age limit as candidates of any age can apply.


Educational Qualification –  The candidate has to meet the following criteria as mandated by AICTE, Delhi, to be eligible for admission: –

  • Must have passed I.S.C / 10+2 or any equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subject and any one of Chemistry/Biotechnology / Biology / Technical Vocational subject.
  • Must have obtained minimum 45% aggregate marks (40% in case of reserved category candidates) in the above subjects taken together.
  • Candidates who are appearing in I.S.C / 10+2 or equivalent examination can also apply but need to have passed the examination before the date of Counselling.

JEECE Application Form 2018

The application form of JEECE 2018 is expected to be available around the first week of April 2018 and can be filled in online mode only. Before candidates can access the JEECE 2018 application form, they need to get registered on the application portal. The candidate will be required to enter a valid email ID, mobile number and other details to complete the registration process. Upon successful registration, the candidate can proceed to fill the JEECE 2018 application form. Some of the details candidates have to enter during the application process include personal details – including address of correspondence, education details, and city preference. The candidate will also be required to upload scanned images of photograph, singanture and left hand thumb impression. The uploaded images must be in JPEG format only. The candidate has to finally pay the JEECE 2018 application fee and submit the form to complete the application process.


Candidates are urged to submit only one application form for JEECE 2018, as otherwise the applicant will be rejected. Also, the application process being online, candidates aren’t required to send hard copy of the JEECE 2018 application form. After successful submission of the JEECE 2018 application form, candidates must take printouts of the confirmation page for future reference.

How to Prepare for JEECE 2018


With proper planning and dedicted effort, even the most diffult of exams can be cracked. The first step of JEECE 2018 preparation starts with getting acquainted with the exam, like the subjects included in question paper, marking scheme and exam duration, and syllabus. Once the candidate knows what to expect in the exam, it will give direction and impetus to JEECE 2018 preparation.


JEECE Exam Pattern 2018


The exam pattern of JEECE 2018 will help candidates make effective preparation strategies and also set their body clock in tune with the test.


The quesion paper of JEECE 2018 will be set in both English and Hindi language. The entrance exam will be conducted in two sessions. In the first session, questions on Physics and Chemistry subjects will be set and candidates will have 2 hours to complete the paper. In the second session, Mathematics test will be conducted with candidates having 1 hour to complete the paper.

JEECE 2018 Admit Card


The admit card of JEECE 2018 will be available in the second week of May 2018 in online mode. Candidates can download the JEECE 2018 admit card by logging in using their application number, password and security pin displayed on the screen. The JEECE 2018 admit card will display details like the name of the candidate, roll number, category, date of birth and subject group, and details about the exam centre. Before downloading the admit card, the candidate must ensure that the information displayed on it are correct. In case of any discrepancy, like a wrongly spelled name, the candidate needs to bring the discrepancy to the notice of the admission authorities. The candidate must safely preserve the JEECE 2018 until the admission process of JEECE 2018 is over.


How to download JEECE admit card 2018:

  • Click on the admit card download link (will be provided here once it is available)
  • Log-in to the portal using the following details:The admit card of JEECE 2018 will be displayed on screen. It will contain details like name of candidate, roll number, centre name and address.

  • After checking all details mentioned in it are correct and legible, the candidate must download it and get a printout.

JEECE Answer Key 2018


The answer key of JEECE 2018 will be released by Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) after the conclusion of the entrance examination. The purpose of the JEECE 2018 answer key is to help candidates verify their answers against the official answers to the questions asked in the question paper. This way candidates know how many correct attempts they made and also where they faltered. By following the marking scheme of JEECE 2018, the candidate will be then able to calculate a probable score. Considering the JCECEB also is prone to mistakes, there is also the provision to challenge answers given in the JEECE 2018 answer key. A window will be given to candidates during which they can send in their complaints. The answer key of JEECE 2018 is expected to be available in the third week of May 2018.


JEECE Result 2018


The result of JEECE 2018 will be declared around the fourth week of May 2018 and will be available in online mode only. To download the JEECE 2018 result, candidates have to log in to the result portal using their JEECE roll number. Along with the result of JEECE 2018, the OMR sheets containg the responses will also be availble for download. Based on the JEECE result 2018, candidates will be shortlisted for counselling  and seat allotment.

JEECE Merit List 2018


JCECEB will publish both a combined merit list and category-wise merit list for candidates who have appear in the JEECE 2018 examination. The merit list of JEECE 2018 will be prepared in the order of merit and will be used for JEECE 2018 seat allotment. In such cases where two or more candidates score equal number in JEECE 2018, the inter-se merit of candidates will be determined based on the following rules:


Inter-se merit of candidates for tie-breaking

  • Candidates with higher marks in Mathematics will be placed higher
  • Candidates who has higher marks in Physics will rank higher
  • If the tie persists, the older candidate will be given preference
  • In the extraordinary scenarion of a tie at the stage, the deadlock will be broken as per alphabetical order of first name.

JEECE Counselling & Seat Allotment 2018


Counselling of JEECE 2018 will be conducted in two rounds, with Round I expected to take place between the first and second week of June, 2017. The counselling will be held in offline mode with candidates requiring to be present in person. Candidates will be called for JEECE 2018 counselling based on their merit rank, with higher ranked candidates called first. Consequently, highly placed candidates will have more options to pick from. Any vacant seats left after Round I of JEECE 2018 couselling will be filled in Round II of counselling. Candidates who have been alloted seats in Round I of counselling can also particiapte in Round II of counselling if they wishes to do so. On the day of counselling, candidates will have to bring along originals of all necessary documents; any discrepancy in information provided and those displayed on originals may lead to disqualification. Allotment of seat for JEECE 2018 will be made only after sucessful document verification.
